Ford's 'Power Promise' Offers Free Home Chargers and Installation in Industry First
Sep 30, 2024, 12:24 PM
Ford has announced a new initiative called the 'Power Promise' program aimed at boosting electric vehicle (EV) sales and addressing owner concerns. As part of this program, Ford will offer free home chargers and free installation to buyers and lessees of its EVs, including the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit Cargo van, from October 1 to December 31. Customers who already have a charger or live in an apartment can opt for a $2,000 incentive instead. This move targets EV-curious buyers and aims to alleviate range anxiety by making home charging more accessible. The program applies to vehicles purchased or leased through January 2, 2024. Ford CEO Jim Farley highlighted that this is an industry first.
