Fergani Space, a subsidiary of Turkish defense company Baykar, successfully launched its first satellite, FGN-100-d1, into space using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-12 mission. The launch took place from Vandenberg Space Force Base in the United States, under the leadership of Selçuk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar. FGN-100-d1 is part of Fergani's initiative to develop a national global positioning system. The satellite was launched alongside 131 other payloads, including satellites from other Turkish companies such as Plan-S and its Connecta IoT satellites. The launch marks a new era in the Small-GEO category, with the satellite set to provide global coverage in communication and geographic positioning.
