Derrick Henry Surpasses 1,500 Rushing Yards for 4th Time, Gains 162 Yards and Ties for AFC North Lead
Dec 21, 2024, 10:48 PM
Derrick Henry achieved a milestone by surpassing 1,500 rushing yards this season, becoming the fourth player in NFL history to accomplish this feat four times. He joins an elite group that includes Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Eric Dickerson, and Edgerrin James, all of whom also have four or more seasons with at least 1,500 rushing yards. Henry's performance this season places him alongside Saquon Barkley, marking the third instance in the last 12 seasons where two players have reached 1,500 rushing yards in the same season. Furthermore, Henry is now the ninth player in NFL history to accumulate over 11,000 rushing yards and 100 rushing touchdowns in his career, joining legends such as Emmitt Smith and Jim Brown. In a recent game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Henry recorded 162 rushing yards on 24 carries, including seven explosive runs, contributing to a decisive victory for the Ravens, who are now tied for the AFC North lead. This performance also allowed him to surpass LeSean McCoy on the all-time rushing list, placing him at No. 22 with 11,138 yards, just 104 yards shy of entering the top 20.
