BYD Becomes Largest Private Employer in China with Over 900,000 Employees, $2.8 Billion R&D Center

BYD Company, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has significantly increased its workforce to over 900,000 employees as of Friday, making it the largest private employer in China. This figure includes nearly 110,000 personnel in research and development (R&D), the largest R&D team among global automakers. The company has added almost 50,000 college graduates in the past two years. BYD's workforce is the largest among the more than 5,300 Chinese A-share listed companies, with 400,000 more employees than the second-largest company. Additionally, BYD is constructing a $2.8 billion global R&D center.
