Sep 18, 2024, 06:20 PM
On September 18, Armenian authorities reported the prevention of a coup attempt aimed at violently seizing power. The National Security Service of Armenia announced that three individuals have been arrested, while four others are currently wanted in connection with the plot. The Investigative Committee of Armenia stated that the coup was allegedly prepared by at least seven individuals, including Armenian citizens and former residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, who had recently received military training in Russia. The plotters were reportedly funded at 220,000 RUB per month each. Armenian prosecutors have accused Russia of organizing and funding the conspiracy, which was aimed at overthrowing the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
