Lightspeed L.A. Signs Agreement with SAG-AFTRA Amid Strike, Includes AI Protections
Sep 4, 2024, 08:42 PM
Lightspeed L.A., a video game studio owned by Tencent, has signed an agreement with SAG-AFTRA, the Screen Actors Guild. The deal, which covers current and future games including the highly anticipated 'Last Sentinel,' allows the company to use union talent under fair and equitable conditions. This agreement, reached amid an ongoing strike by SAG-AFTRA against major studios, includes provisions for AI protections for performers. The deal is part of an Interim Interactive Media Agreement, which enables Lightspeed L.A. to continue production during the strike. Notably, this is SAG-AFTRA's first agreement to protect actors from AI.
