“Ainda Estou Aqui,” directed by Walter Salles and starring Fernanda Torres and Selton Mello, has been nominated for the 2025 Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film, marking Brazil's first nomination in this category in 20 years. Fernanda Torres has also secured her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of Eunice Paiva, the wife of Rubens Paiva. This achievement mirrors the career of her mother, Fernanda Montenegro, who was nominated for an Academy Award 25 years ago for “Central do Brasil.” The film, which is the highest-grossing post-pandemic release in Brazil, has previously been awarded at the Venice Film Festival.
