Israeli Special Forces Raid IRGC Weapons Facility in Masyaf, Syria, Targeting Chemical Weapons
Sep 12, 2024, 12:42 PM
Israeli special forces conducted a significant operation in Syria on Sunday night, targeting an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) weapons facility near Masyaf. The operation involved air-dropping IDF commandos who engaged in heavy clashes with Assad regime forces around the SSRC bunker complex. The Israeli troops infiltrated the site, seized critical equipment and documents, and destroyed the facility. Reports indicate that several Syrians were killed, and two to four Iranians were captured. The facility was reportedly involved in the development of ballistic missiles, drones, and chemical weapons. This raid marks one of Israel's largest airstrikes in recent years and was briefed to the U.S. beforehand.
