Washington State Hires Jimmy Rogers from South Dakota State on Five-Year Deal After FCS National Title
Dec 28, 2024, 09:38 PM
Washington State University is set to hire 37-year-old Jimmy Rogers, the head coach of South Dakota State, as its next head football coach. Rogers, an Arizona native who led South Dakota State to an FCS national title in 2023, has agreed to a five-year deal with Washington State. In his two seasons at South Dakota State, Rogers compiled a 27-3 record, showcasing his coaching prowess by leading the Jackrabbits to a perfect 15-0 season in 2023 and receiving the Eddie Robinson Award. His move to Washington State comes after the team's appearance in the FCS semifinals and follows Jake Dickert's departure to become head coach at Wake Forest. Rogers, a former linebacker and captain at South Dakota State, will now take over a Washington State team that finished the 2024 season with an 8-5 record.
