Army Soldier Shot Himself Before Cybertruck Explosion at Trump's Las Vegas Hotel
Jan 2, 2025, 08:10 PM
Authorities in Las Vegas reported that a rented Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside President-elect Donald Trump's International Hotel on New Year's Day, killing the driver. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Army soldier Matthew Livelsberger, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head prior to the vehicle's detonation, according to Sheriff Kevin McMahill. A handgun was discovered at his feet inside the Cybertruck, which was packed with fireworks and gas canisters. Officials believe Livelsberger may have intended to cause more damage, but the steel-sided vehicle absorbed much of the blast. The investigation is ongoing.
