Turkey Hits 32 Kurdish Targets in Iraq and Syria After Deadly Ankara Attack Kills Five
Oct 23, 2024, 09:09 PM
The Turkish military has launched a series of airstrikes targeting Kurdish militant positions in northern Iraq and Syria. This operation follows a deadly attack on Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) in Ankara, which resulted in five fatalities. According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, 32 targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its affiliate, the YPG, were hit and destroyed. The strikes are part of a broader retaliation effort against the PKK and YPG in response to the recent terrorist attack. The air campaign is ongoing, with reports indicating over 30 airstrikes and additional artillery strikes by Turkey and allied Syrian opposition groups.
