Braves Finalize Trade for Jorge Soler and Luke Jackson from Giants, Sending Matzek and Ceballos
Jul 30, 2024, 03:42 AM
The Atlanta Braves are finalizing a trade to acquire outfielder Jorge Soler and reliever Luke Jackson from the San Francisco Giants. In return, the Giants will receive left-handed pitcher Tyler Matzek and infielder Sabin Ceballos. Soler, who was a key player in the Braves' 2021 World Series win and the World Series MVP, has underperformed this year but is under contract until 2026. The trade, orchestrated by Braves' General Manager Alex Anthopoulos, aims to bolster the Braves' roster as they look to make a postseason run. The move also allows the Giants to clear at-bats for Marco Luciano, who has been performing well in Triple-A.
