Blake Snell Throws First Career No-Hitter Against Reds, 18th in Giants History
Aug 3, 2024, 02:28 AM
Blake Snell of the San Francisco Giants has thrown the first no-hitter of his career against the Cincinnati Reds. This marks the 18th no-hitter in Giants franchise history. Snell, who was a hot topic in trade rumors, achieved this milestone just three days after the trade deadline. He recorded 10 strikeouts and completed the game with 114 pitches. Notably, this was also the first time Snell pitched into the 9th inning in his career. He had thrown 95 pitches through 7 innings and completed 8 innings for the first time in his career. This no-hitter adds to the list of no-hitters in the 2024 MLB season, following Dylan Cease on July 25 and Ronel Blanco on April 1.
