A salmonella outbreak linked to recalled cucumbers has affected 449 people across 31 states and Washington, D.C., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The outbreak has resulted in at least 125 hospitalizations. Two cucumber growers have been identified as sources of the outbreak, with one Florida grower reportedly using untreated canal water tainted with the bacteria.
