Starting Today, Google Brings Ads to AI Search Summaries and Launches 'Organized with AI'
Oct 3, 2024, 04:14 PM
Google is expanding its use of artificial intelligence in its search engine by introducing ads into AI-generated summaries known as AI Overviews. Starting today, the company will display sponsored product suggestions within and alongside these AI Overviews when relevant, including at the top of some search results. The ads, labeled as "Sponsored," are drawn from advertisers’ existing search campaigns and will appear on mobile search as well. Google has been testing this feature since May. Additionally, Google is rolling out a feature called "Organized with AI" in the United States, which groups search results under unique, AI-generated headlines to help users navigate information more effectively. This move signifies Google's ongoing efforts to integrate AI technology into its search services while monetizing through advertising.
