Israeli Forces Kill 26-Year-Old American-Turkish Activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi in West Bank Protest

Israeli forces fatally shot Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old American-Turkish activist, during a protest against settlement expansion in the West Bank town of Beita, near Nablus, on Friday. Eygi was participating in a peaceful demonstration when she was struck in the head by live fire from Israeli troops. The incident has been confirmed by the U.S. State Department, and Palestinian officials have also reported on the event. Eygi had arrived in the West Bank on Tuesday and was involved with the International Solidarity Movement. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not yet commented on the incident. The protest was part of a weekly demonstration, according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.
