Israeli forces fatally shot Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old American-Turkish activist, during a protest against settlement expansion in the West Bank town of Beita, near Nablus, on Friday. Eygi was participating in a peaceful demonstration when she was struck in the head by live fire from Israeli troops. The incident has been confirmed by the U.S. State Department, and Palestinian officials have also reported on the event.
