Iran Unveils Underground Missile Facility, Launches 'Eqtedar 1403' Drills Amid Tensions with Israel and US
Jan 12, 2025, 08:07 AM
Iran has unveiled a new underground missile facility, showcasing its advanced ballistic missile capabilities. The facility, referred to as a 'missile city,' houses a variety of missiles including the Emad, Qadr, and Qiam, and was visited by IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Hossein Salami and IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh. This development comes as Iran intensifies its military readiness, with the Iranian Army initiating air defense exercises named 'Eqtedar 1403' in the western and northern parts of the country. These exercises aim to bolster defense capabilities against potential aerial threats, involving missile, radar, and electronic warfare units, as well as manned and unmanned aircraft. The drills are part of a broader effort to protect key nuclear sites, including Fordow and Khondab, amid heightened tensions with Israel and the United States, particularly in anticipation of Donald Trump's return to the presidency on January 20. Additionally, the Iranian Army is set to receive 1,000 strategic drones and a new destroyer in the coming days.
