Houthi Rebels Launch Third Hypersonic Missile Attack in 12 Hours on Israeli Ministry of Defense, 11 Injured
Jan 14, 2025, 01:38 AM
The Houthi rebels from Yemen launched a series of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, with the latest incident involving a ballistic missile strike aimed at the Israeli Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv. The attack, which occurred early Tuesday, was part of a third operation within a 12-hour period. The Israeli military reported that the missile, identified as a hypersonic 'Palestine-2' ballistic missile, was likely intercepted after several attempts. The interception efforts led to missile fragments landing on homes in the Jerusalem area, causing damage but no injuries. Additionally, 11 people were reported injured while rushing to bomb shelters during the attack, and four others were treated for shock. The Houthis claimed the missile successfully hit its target and that Israeli defense systems failed to intercept it. These attacks are part of the Houthis' ongoing operations in support of Palestinians in Gaza amid the conflict with Israel.
