Harris Raises Record $1B in Q3, Nearing Biden's Record, Outpaces Trump 3.5:1 in September
Oct 21, 2024, 06:40 AM
Kamala Harris's presidential campaign has set a new fundraising record, raising approximately $1 billion in the third quarter of 2024, which ended on September 30. This amount is more than twice the contributions reported by former President Donald Trump during the same period. Harris and her allied committees raised $378 million in September alone, just short of the record set by Joe Biden in September 2020. In September, Harris out-raised and out-spent Trump by about a 3.5-to-1 margin, with Harris raising $221.8 million and spending $269.8 million, compared to Trump's $62.7 million raised and $77.6 million spent. Harris had a 1.5-to-1 advantage in cash on hand, with $187.4 million compared to Trump's $119.7 million. Her campaign started October with $364 million on hand, significantly more than Trump's $285 million. The substantial fundraising has allowed Harris to invest heavily in television advertising ahead of the November 5 election, outspending Trump $270 million to $78 million in September advertising expenditures.
