An unexploded U.S. bomb from World War II detonated at Miyazaki Airport in southwest Japan on Wednesday, creating a seven-meter-wide crater on a taxiway and leading to the cancellation of 87 flights. The explosion damaged a portion of the taxiway but resulted in no reported injuries. Miyazaki Airport, which has previously been the site of unexploded ordnance discoveries, was temporarily closed following the incident.
