Russia Denies Reported Disruption of Ukraine Talks Amid Kursk Region Attacks
Aug 18, 2024, 01:11 PM
Russia has denied media reports suggesting that indirect talks with Ukraine were disrupted due to Ukrainian attacks on the Kursk region. The Russian Foreign Ministry, through spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, dismissed claims made in a Washington Post article, stating that no negotiations, direct or indirect, were taking place with the Ukrainian government. Zakharova emphasized that there was nothing to disrupt, as no talks were being conducted regarding the security of civilian critical infrastructure facilities. Reports had also mentioned Qatar in the context of these alleged talks.
