Iran Demands Ukraine Stop Aiding Syrian Terrorists with Drones and Weapons
Dec 6, 2024, 12:49 PM
Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Ukraine to cease its support for terrorist groups in Syria, accusing Kyiv of violating international commitments to combat terrorism. The ministry specifically criticized Ukraine for providing drone expertise and engaging in the illegal trade of weapons received from the US to these groups, including the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist organization. This demand comes amidst reports that Ukraine has been involved in training and supplying militants. Iran's Foreign Minister aide, Mojtaba Damirchilu, emphasized the need for Ukraine to stop these activities immediately. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has denied these allegations, stating that Moscow and Tehran bear the main responsibility for the security deterioration in Syria.
