OpenAI Launches 'Canvas' with GPT-4o for ChatGPT Plus Users to Enhance Writing and Coding
Oct 3, 2024, 05:48 PM
OpenAI has introduced Canvas, accessed via 'GPT-4o with canvas' in the model picker, a new interface for ChatGPT that enhances collaboration on writing and coding projects beyond simple chat interactions. The Canvas feature allows users to work side by side with ChatGPT, enabling inline code editing, code review, bug fixing, adding logs and comments, and porting code to different languages. Users can directly edit text, adjust length, change reading levels, indicate where ChatGPT should focus, and receive targeted suggestions. Canvas is rolling out in beta to ChatGPT Plus and Team users starting today, with access for Enterprise and Edu subscribers following soon. The new interface is seen as OpenAI's response to Claude's Artifacts and represents a significant shift in how humans collaborate with ChatGPT since its launch two years ago.
