This move comes in response to a €798 million fine imposed by the European Union for antitrust violations related to the integration of Marketplace with its social network. The test will enable eBay sellers to gain exposure to Meta's audience, while Marketplace users will have access to a broader array of listings. Transactions will still be completed on eBay's platform. This initiative is part of Meta's efforts to comply with the EU's order, despite the company's ongoing appeal of the fine, which it claims is based on a 'hypothetical potential to harm competition.'
