UN Security Council Unanimously Extends Sudan Sanctions Regime Until September 2025 with Resolution 2750

The United Nations Security Council has unanimously passed a resolution to extend the sanctions regime against Sudan. This includes an arms embargo, asset freezes, and travel bans, which will now remain in effect until September 2025. All 15 Council members voted in favor of the resolution, designated as Resolution 2750. The resolution, which extends the sanctions for an additional 12 months, aims to address ongoing security concerns and instability in Sudan. Ambassador Dai Bing provided an explanation of the vote.
