Gallup Poll: 52% of Ukrainians Favor Negotiations, Open to Concessions
Nov 19, 2024, 05:17 PM
A recent Gallup poll conducted in August and October 2024 reveals a significant shift in Ukrainian public opinion regarding the ongoing conflict with Russia. According to the survey, 52% of Ukrainians now favor negotiating an end to the war as soon as possible, a notable increase from the previous year when 73% preferred fighting until victory. This change in sentiment is particularly pronounced in Eastern Ukraine, where 63% support negotiations compared to 27% who advocate for continued fighting. Moreover, more than half of those who want a quick end to the hostilities believe that Ukraine should be prepared to make some territorial concessions as part of a peace deal.
