CBI Intensifies Probe into Kolkata Doctor's Murder; Sanjay Roy and Sandip Ghosh Under Scrutiny
Aug 17, 2024, 11:28 PM
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is intensifying its investigation into the rape and murder of a 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The CBI has dispatched a team from Delhi's Central Forensic Science Laboratory to conduct a psycho-analysis and layered voice analysis test on Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the case. A psychologist has also been brought in to assist with the investigation. Former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandip Ghosh, has been questioned by the CBI for the third day as part of the probe. The incident has sparked nationwide protests, with allegations that the murdered doctor was 'under pressure'. The CBI is employing advanced techniques, including 3D scanning at the crime scene, to gather more evidence. Additionally, a psychological test of the accused Sanjay Roy has begun.
