Jordan has announced its readiness to supply electricity to Syria, marking a step in Syria's reconstruction efforts following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad's regime. Jordan's Energy Minister, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, stated that infrastructure work is underway to supply electricity to the Nasib border crossing, following a request from Syria. The two countries have been electrically connected since 2001 via a 400-kilovolt transmission line, which has been out of service since 2012 due to technical issues. The restoration of this connection is contingent on Syria's readiness to receive power.
