Refugee Olympian Anjelina Lohalith Suspended for Doping Ahead of Paris Olympics
May 2, 2024, 09:10 PM
Anjelina Nadai Lohalith, a refugee Olympian originally from South Sudan, has been suspended from participating in the upcoming Paris Olympics due to a positive doping test. Lohalith, who had previously competed in the 2016 and 2021 Olympics in the 1,500 meters event, tested positive for the banned substance Trimetazidine. This incident marks the third doping case within the Refugee Olympic Team as they prepare for the Paris Games. Lohalith was being supported by an IOC scholarship aimed at aiding her preparation for her third consecutive Summer Games.
