IDF Denies Issuing Evacuation Orders for Southern Lebanon Amid Hezbollah Rocket Fire
Sep 15, 2024, 09:42 AM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have denied issuing any official evacuation orders for southern Lebanon, despite reports of leaflets advising residents to evacuate. The leaflets, which were dropped by a drone in areas such as Wazzani and north of Kiryat Shmona, instructed residents to leave and not return until the end of the war. The IDF clarified that these leaflets were a private initiative by Regional Brigade 679 and were not approved by senior IDF command or the political leadership. The leaflets were dropped ahead of a possible imminent military response against the ongoing rocket fire from Hezbollah. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
