Palestinian Christian Alice Kaissieh Arrested in Bethlehem Protesting Israeli Settlers' Land Confiscation
Aug 25, 2024, 03:48 PM
Alice Kaissieh, also known as Alice Qaisiyah, a Palestinian Christian woman, has been arrested by Israeli forces along with her mother in Al-Makhrour, Bethlehem. The arrest occurred as they peacefully protested against armed Israeli settlers attempting to confiscate their family's land, which is part of one of the last Christian villages in Palestine. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are reportedly supporting the settlers in this endeavor. Although her mother has been released, Alice remains in detention at the Betar Illit settlement as of 9 pm. The situation has sparked calls for international attention to the ongoing land disputes in the region.
