Greek-Owned Bulk Carrier Laax Attacked by Missiles in Red Sea Off Yemen

A commercial vessel, identified as the Greek-owned, Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier Laax, was attacked by three missiles approximately 54 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah, Yemen in the Red Sea. The attack, presumed to be carried out by Houthi forces, caused significant damage to the cargo compartment, resulting in the vessel taking on water and tilting. The ship issued a distress signal reporting the damage and water ingress. The incident has been confirmed by maritime security firm Ambrey and a US defense official.
