Russia's Secret Drone Program in China for Ukraine War Raises US Concerns
Sep 25, 2024, 12:16 PM
Russia has reportedly established a secret weapons program in China to develop and produce long-range attack drones for use in the war against Ukraine. The program is being developed by IEMZ Kupol, a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned weapons company Almaz-Antey. The new drone model, called Garpiya-3 (G3), has been flight-tested in China with the help of local specialists. The Garpiya-3 can travel approximately 2,000 kilometers with a payload of 50 kg. This information comes from two sources from a European intelligence agency and documents reviewed by Reuters. China's foreign ministry has denied any involvement in the project. The United States has expressed deep concern over the report, according to the White House.
