Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore Among Celebrities Evacuated as Los Angeles Wildfires Threaten 13,000 Structures
Jan 8, 2025, 06:13 PM
Wildfires raging through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles have forced thousands of residents, including numerous celebrities, to evacuate their homes. Mark Hamill, who evacuated at 8:15 pm with his wife Marilou York and their dog Trixie to their daughter Chelsea's Hollywood home, described the blaze as the 'most horrific fire since '93.' Mandy Moore, who evacuated with her toddler sons, newborn daughter, and husband Taylor Goldsmith, expressed gratitude towards the first responders on social media. James Woods shared footage from his security cameras of the fire encroaching on his neighborhood. The fires have led to the evacuation of approximately 30,000 residents and have threatened over 13,000 structures. The Palisades Fire, which started on Tuesday morning, has already consumed at least 2,900 acres and 1,000 hectares. California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency on Tuesday night due to the high winds and dry conditions exacerbating the spread of the flames along the Pacific Coast Highway.
