Arsenal Move to Second with 5-2 Win Over West Ham; Saka First in Europe to 10 Assists
Nov 30, 2024, 06:23 PM
Arsenal climbed to second place in the Premier League after a frenetic 5-2 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium, with all seven goals coming in a remarkable first half. Bukayo Saka was instrumental, contributing one goal and two assists, becoming the first player in Europe's top five leagues to reach ten league assists this season. His season tally now stands at five goals and ten assists in twelve matches. Other Arsenal goals came from Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard, and Kai Havertz. West Ham's goals were scored by Wan-Bissaka and Emerson Palmieri. This is only the fourth time in Premier League history that seven goals have been scored in the first half of a match. Arsenal's victory leaves them six points behind leaders Liverpool. It was the second time this week that Arsenal scored five goals away from home.
