Shimla Court Orders Demolition of Three Unauthorized Floors of Sanjauli Mosque

In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, both the district court and the Municipal Commissioner have ordered and permitted the demolition of three unauthorized floors of the Sanjauli Mosque. The court directed the Masjid committee and the Waqf Board to dismantle the illegal constructions. According to BS Thakur, the lawyer representing the Waqf Board, the court's decision mandates the mosque authorities to remove the unauthorized structures. "We respect the court order. We had given in writing that we were willing to demolish the unauthorized constructions," said Latif Negi, Chairman of the mosque committee.
