President-elect Donald Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, arrived at the U.S. Capitol to pay their respects to former President Jimmy Carter, who is lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda. They spent over a minute in silence at Carter's casket. Trump was greeted by House Speaker Johnson upon arrival. Trump's visit to the Capitol comes ahead of Carter's funeral, which Trump has confirmed he will attend.
