President-elect Donald Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, arrived at the U.S. Capitol to pay their respects to former President Jimmy Carter, who is lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda. They spent over a minute in silence at Carter's casket. After paying their respects, Trump is scheduled to meet with the Senate Republican conference, led by Senate Majority Leader John Thune, to discuss legislative priorities.
