VisitToyota Recalls 100,000 Vehicles Amid Certification Issues Investigation
Jun 3, 2024, 05:58 AM
Toyota Motor Corp. and several other Japanese automakers have reported irregularities to Japan’s transport ministry following a series of safety test violations, Yomiuri reported. Toyota has announced a recall of over 100,000 vehicles Thursday and has suspended sales of three models in Japan due to certification issues. A government investigation revealed that Toyota falsified data and bypassed impact-safety tests while certifying seven past and current vehicles. The transport ministry is set to search Toyota’s office over these vehicle certification issues.
