Trump's Renewed Push to Acquire Greenland Backed by Congressman; Greenland's PM Rejects

U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his interest in acquiring Greenland, emphasizing its strategic importance for international security to combat threats from Russia and China. Trump expressed confidence that Denmark will agree to the acquisition, suggesting that maintaining Greenland is costly for Denmark, and noted, "The people of Greenland are not happy with Denmark. I think they're happy with us." Republican Congressman Andy Ogles introduced a bill to give Trump the authority to acquire Greenland, stating, "We are, quite frankly, the dominant predator." In response, Greenland's Prime Minister Múte B. Egede asserted Greenland's desire for autonomy, declaring, "We don't want to be Americans. We don't want to be Danish either. Greenland's future will be decided by Greenland." Denmark's foreign minister also emphasized that no country should be able to simply "help themselves" to another country.
