Roman Polanski No Longer Faces Trial in Los Angeles Over Alleged 1973 Rape of Minor
Oct 23, 2024, 10:18 AM
Roman Polanski, the director known for films such as 'The Pianist,' will no longer face trial in Los Angeles over the alleged rape of a minor in 1973. The lawsuit, brought by a woman who claimed Polanski sexually assaulted her after plying her with tequila, has been settled and dismissed. Polanski's lawyer, Alexander Rufus-Isaacs, confirmed that the case was settled to the mutual satisfaction of both parties during the summer. Polanski, who fled the U.S. decades ago after admitting to the statutory rape of a 13-year-old, reached the settlement recently.
