British prosecutors have discontinued two indecent assault charges against former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced that the decision was made after concluding there was no realistic prospect of securing a conviction. The charges, which dated back to an alleged incident in London in 1996, involved a single complainant. The CPS had previously authorized the charges in 2022, but after a review of the evidence, they decided to drop the case.
