Trump to 'Most Likely' Grant TikTok 90-Day Extension After Ban Set for Sunday
Jan 18, 2025, 06:25 PM
President-elect Donald Trump stated in an interview with NBC News on Saturday that he will "most likely" grant TikTok a 90-day extension to avoid a ban in the United States after he takes office on Monday. The ban is currently set to take effect on Sunday after the Supreme Court upheld it. Trump noted, "We have to look at it carefully. It's a very big situation," and mentioned that he hasn't made a final decision yet. The extension would provide TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, additional time to negotiate a deal to continue operations in the U.S.
