IDF and Defense Ministry Reequip 97 Squads in Northern Israel Amid Hezbollah Attacks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Defense Ministry have completed the reequipment of 97 emergency standby squads in northern Israel. This initiative is part of the 'Mashiv Haruach' program, which includes rearming and equipping teams, platoons, and companies along the northern border with 9,000 Arad rifles purchased for 50 million NIS. The reequipment aims to bolster civilian defense squads as Hezbollah intensifies attacks from Lebanon. The Defense Ministry director emphasized the importance of this effort, following similar initiatives near the Gaza border. Phase A of the program involves reequipping 100 squads.
