Controversial Cleric Raises £3 Million to Create Islamic State on Isle of Torsa

Sheikh Yasser al-Habib, a 45-year-old controversial cleric who claimed asylum in Britain 20 years ago, has raised over £3 million to buy the remote Isle of Torsa off the west coast of Scotland. Al-Habib, who already runs military-style training camps, plans to transform the island into a self-governing Islamic state. The envisioned community will include a school, hospital, mosque, and will operate under sharia law. The project aims to allow Muslims from around the world to obtain visas and live in this new homeland. A video reveals followers roaming the island in a bid to raise £3.5 million in donations.
