Dec 15, 2024, 10:57 AM
On December 14, 2024, Ukrainian Defense Forces executed a successful multi-phase special operation in the Zaporizhzhia region, targeting a key logistical route for Russian fuel supplies. The operation resulted in the destruction of a Russian train carrying 40 fuel tanks valued at approximately $4 million. The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), in collaboration with the Defense Intelligence (HUR) and Special Operations Forces, utilized controlled explosive devices to derail the train on the Kamysh-Zorya - Verkhniy Tokmak railway line. Following the derailment, HIMARS strikes were employed to eliminate remaining armored vehicles. This operation is seen as a significant disruption to Russian logistics, particularly affecting supply routes from Crimea to occupied territories in Ukraine.
