Russia Assembles 300 Boats for Kherson Offensive Amid Trump's Inauguration
Dec 4, 2024, 09:10 AM
Russia is reportedly preparing for a significant military offensive targeting the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian military sources, the operation in Zaporizhzhia was expected to commence between October and December. The regional head of Kherson, Oleksandr Prokudin, has stated that Russia has assembled 300 boats to cross the Dnipro River, aiming to advance on Kherson's west bank. This move is part of a broader strategy to seize river islands, including Kozatsky Island near Nova Kakhovka, and move closer to Kherson's western bank, potentially in anticipation of political changes in the U.S. following Donald Trump's inauguration, according to the Financial Times.
