Dec 9, 2024, 02:35 AM
On Sunday morning, a passenger on Volaris Flight 3041 from El Bajío to Tijuana attempted to forcibly divert the plane to the United States. The passenger, identified as 31-year-old Mario "N" from Pénjamo, Guanajuato, was traveling with his wife and two children. He assaulted a flight attendant and tried to storm the cockpit, claiming he had received a death threat and could not land in Tijuana. The crew and passengers subdued him, and the flight was diverted and landed safely in Guadalajara. Authorities, including the Guardia Nacional and the Federal Aviation Agency (AFAC), detained the man. No injuries were reported.
