Passenger Attempts to Hijack Volaris Flight 3041 in Mexico, Diverted to Guadalajara
Dec 8, 2024, 10:53 PM
A passenger attempted to hijack a Volaris flight in Mexico, trying to divert the plane to the United States. The incident occurred on Flight 3041, an Airbus A320, traveling from El Bajío to Tijuana on Sunday morning. The passenger, identified as Mario 'N', assaulted a flight attendant and attempted to storm the cockpit, alleging he had received a death threat and could not land in Tijuana. The crew, with assistance from passengers, subdued the man, and the flight was diverted to Guadalajara, where he was handed over to the Guardia Nacional and the Agencia Federal de Aviación Civil (AFAC). Authorities reported that all passengers and crew are safe, and no injuries were reported.
